First, we compiled a detailed overview of our client’s goals and target audience. From this data, we worked closely with the client to draft an action plan that would most effectively play to their brand’s strengths. With design, navigation and functionality at the forefront, we developed a sitemap that was clear and rational, a user-friendly interface, and a sleek visual style that kept with the brand’s bold and “edgy” aesthetic.

To boost performance, we began by stripping out render-blocking elements, minifying code, setting up and configuring a content delivery network (CDN), resetting cache configurations, and compressing all critical resources.

To improve SEO, we specified title and meta tags, included metadescriptions, employed clean and descriptive URLs, and ensured all headings were in sequentially descending order.  We also focused on optimising responsiveness and loading speed. On mobile devices, their old site loaded slowly and was not fully responsive, so we put a special focus on mobile optimisation.

For optimal accessibility, we made sure that background and foreground colours were sufficiently contrasted, fonts were selected for maximum clarity and readability, and all links stood out from existing text.

To address security, we set up security headers, implemented login and SPAM protection, and set up full SSL/TLS encryption mode, firewall rules, regular backups and malware scans.
